In 1978, Mattamy Homes began constructing real estate properties. They are now acknowledged as being the biggest privately held home builder in North America. They have 90,000 homeowners spread over countless communities. The Building Industry and Land Development Association has honoured Mattamy Homes, a highly praised builder, with the title of Homebuilder of the Year for a record eight times since 2001.
